I’ll be honest. You have to be the nail before you become the hammer!
And there’s no getting around it. To be good at anything thing you need to be bad first and to be bad you have to try. Doesn’t matter if it’s chess, table tennis or the entrance into the SAS. It’s just the way life works.
When I started out in BJJ I didn’t understand what was happening to me?? I was fit (for my age) and had good cardio. Pretty smart and a background in several martial arts (I was already a black belt in Karate with ten years of Muay Thai under my belt to boot) but that didn’t save me. I was twisted and crushed by a kid (literally he was around 16 years old)
This is a tough program and not for the faint of heart. But if you are bored with the gym, not making progress, tired of the same old life and tired routines of get up, go to work, sit on the couch, repeat then take a chance on something new!
I found the answer in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It’s challenging, physical, commands you use your brain and gives every student a massive mental boost after training. Here are a few other reasons why BJJ is the solution....
